Takezo Shima was born into a family of exorcists. His father, Shiro, was a powerful exorcist who was killed by a demon when Takezo was just a child. Takezo's mother, Miya, was also an exorcist, but she died when Takezo was still young. Takezo was raised by his grandfather, Genkai, who taught him everything he knew about exorcism.
